Cranberry Christmas Cake

Ingredients

  • 5 Tbs butter

  • 1 ½ cups sugar

  • ¾ cup canned evaporated milk

  • ¾ cup water

  • 3 cups flour

  • 1 ½ tsp salt

  • 3 tsp baking soda

  • 3 cups whole cranberries, fresh or frozen

  • Bundt pan

Caramel sauce

  • 1 cup butter

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 1 cup canned evaporated milk

  • 2 tsp vanilla

Directions

Sauce

Bring sauce ingredients to a boil in a sauce pan, then simmer till ready to eat. Serve warm on sliced cake.

Cake

Preheat oven to 350˚ F.

Cream butter and sugar together.

Add remaining cake ingredients alternating dry and liquid. Grease a bundt pan and pour mix in.

Bake for 45–50 minutes.

Notes

This cake is served each and every year for Christmas Eve dinner. If it’s not there, it’s not Christmas.

It’s always wise to make extra sauce, it’s delicious.
