Basic Chicken Marinade

A great chicken marinade requires a few key things:

  1. Healthy dose of salt.

  2. Marinade 12-24 hrs, not more than 48 hrs.

Ingredients

  • Up to 3 lbs chicken breasts

  • ¼ cup oil

  • 1 Tbs sea salt

  • 1 Tbs onion -OR- garlic salt

  • 2 tsp onion -OR- garlic powder

  • 1 Tbs Worcestershire sauce

  • 1-2 tsp black pepper

  • ½ lemon, juiced or ¼ cup vinegar (opt - John never adds an acid)

Directions

Place chicken in gallon zip bag. Add in marinade ingredients, close the bag and squish it around until well mixed.

Place in refrigerator to marinade.

Remove from fridge about 1 hour before cooking to bring to room temperature. Cook on grill, oven, or stovetop.
