Raisin Bran Muffins

Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar

  • 1 melted shortening, not oil

  • 4 eggs, beaten

  • 1 quart buttermilk

  • 5 tsp soda

  • 1 (15 oz) package Raisin Bran cereal

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 5 cups flour

Directions

Mix all ingredients in large bowl.

Put in a container with a tight lid and store in refrigerator. Use as needed.

Let stand in refrigerator a few days before first batch. Do not re-stir, just fill muffin tins 2/3 full and bake at 400˚ for 15–20 minutes.
